Deep Tissue Massage
is a more thorough technique of bodywork at the point of an injury site. This work requires slow and deliberate pressure with the intent of breaking down and realigning adhesions (scar tissue) in the body. The technique is performed by using deep friction across the muscle fibers while working out the ridged tissue. This allows the client to achieve greater range of motion, release nerve impingements, increase blood flow to aid in healing, and reduce inflammation cause by those adhesions.
Deep tissue massage is very effective in treating chronic muscle tension that becomes a holding pattern in the neck, shoulders, and lower back areas.
